1. The Lord said to Moses,
|
1. And the LORD H3068 spoke H1696 unto H413 Moses H4872 , saying H559 ,
|
|
2. "Tell the Israelites: 'If men or women want to promise to belong to the Lord in a special way, they will be called Nazirites.
|
2. Speak H1696 unto H413 the children H1121 of Israel H3478 , and say H559 unto H413 them, When H3588 either man H376 or H176 woman H802 shall separate H6381 themselves to vow H5087 a vow H5088 of a Nazarite H5139 , to separate H5144 themselves unto the LORD H3068 :

3. During this time, they must not drink wine or beer, or vinegar made from wine or beer. They must not even drink grape juice or eat grapes or raisins.
|
3. He shall separate H5144 himself from wine H4480 H3196 and strong drink H7941 , and shall drink H8354 no H3808 vinegar H2558 of wine H3196 , or vinegar H2558 of strong drink H7941 , neither H3808 shall he drink H8354 any H3605 liquor H4952 of grapes H6025 , nor H3808 eat H398 moist H3892 grapes H6025 , or dried H3002 .

4. While they are Nazirites, they must not eat anything that comes from the grapevine, even the seeds or the skin.
|
4. All H3605 the days H3117 of his separation H5145 shall he eat H398 nothing H3808 H4480 H3605 that H834 is made H6213 of the vine H3196 tree H4480 H1612 , from the kernels H4480 H2785 even to H5704 the husk H2085 .
|
|
5. "'During the time they have promised to belong to the Lord, they must not cut their hair. They must be holy until this special time is over. They must let their hair grow long.
|
5. All H3605 the days H3117 of the vow H5088 of his separation H5145 there shall no H3808 razor H8593 come H5674 upon H5921 his head H7218 : until H5704 the days H3117 be fulfilled H4390 , in the which H834 he separateth H5144 himself unto the LORD H3068 , he shall be H1961 holy H6918 , and shall let the locks H6545 of the hair H8181 of his head H7218 grow H1431 .

6. During their special time of belonging to the Lord, Nazirites must not go near a dead body.
|
6. All H3605 the days H3117 that he separateth H5144 himself unto the LORD H3068 he shall come H935 at H5921 no H3808 dead H4191 body H5315 .
|
|
7. Even if their own father, mother, brother, or sister dies, they must not touch them, or they will become unclean. They must still keep their promise to belong to God in a special way.
|
7. He shall not H3808 make himself unclean H2930 for his father H1 , or for his mother H517 , for his brother H251 , or for his sister H269 , when they die H4191 : because H3588 the consecration H5145 of his God H430 is upon H5921 his head H7218 .
|
|
8. While they are Nazirites, they belong to the Lord in a special way.
|
8. All H3605 the days H3117 of his separation H5145 he H1931 is holy H6918 unto the LORD H3068 .
|
|
9. "'If they are next to someone who dies suddenly, their hair, which was part of their promise, has been made unclean. So they must shave their head seven days later to be clean.
|
9. And if H3588 any man H4191 die H4191 very H6621 suddenly H6597 by H5921 him , and he hath defiled H2930 the head H7218 of his consecration H5145 ; then he shall shave H1548 his head H7218 in the day H3117 of his cleansing H2893 , on the seventh H7637 day H3117 shall he shave H1548 it.

10. Then on the eighth day, they must bring two doves or two young pigeons to the priest at the entrance to the Meeting Tent.
|
10. And on the eighth H8066 day H3117 he shall bring H935 two H8147 turtles H8449 , or H176 two H8147 young H1121 pigeons H3123 , to H413 the priest H3548 , to H413 the door H6607 of the tabernacle H168 of the congregation H4150 :

|
11. The priest will offer one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering. This removes sin so they will belong to the Lord. (They had sinned because they were near a dead body.) That same day they will again promise to let their hair grow
|
11. And the priest H3548 shall offer H6213 the one H259 for a sin offering H2403 , and the other H259 for a burnt offering H5930 , and make an atonement H3722 for H5921 him , for that H4480 H834 he sinned H2398 by H5921 the dead H5315 , and shall hallow H6942 H853 his head H7218 that same H1931 day H3117 .

12. and give themselves to the Lord for another special time. They must bring a male lamb a year old as a penalty offering. The days of the special time before don't count, because they became unclean during their first special time.
|
12. And he shall consecrate H5144 unto the LORD H3068 H853 the days H3117 of his separation H5145 , and shall bring H935 a lamb H3532 of the first H1121 year H8141 for a trespass offering H817 : but the days H3117 that were before H7223 shall be lost H5307 , because H3588 his separation H5145 was defiled H2930 .

13. "'This is the teaching for the Nazirites. When the promised time is over, they must go the entrance of the Meeting Tent
|
13. And this H2063 is the law H8451 of the Nazarite H5139 , when H3117 the days H3117 of his separation H5145 are fulfilled H4390 : he shall be brought H935 unto H413 the door H6607 of the tabernacle H168 of the congregation H4150 :
|
|
14. and give their offerings to the Lord. They must offer a year-old male lamb that has nothing wrong with it, as a burnt offering, a year-old female lamb that has nothing wrong with it, as a sin offering, and a male sheep that has nothing wrong with it, for a fellowship offering.
|
14. And he shall offer H7126 H853 his offering H7133 unto the LORD H3068 , one H259 he lamb H3532 of the first H1121 year H8141 without blemish H8549 for a burnt offering H5930 , and one H259 ewe lamb H3535 of the first H1323 year H8141 without blemish H8549 for a sin offering H2403 , and one H259 ram H352 without blemish H8549 for peace offerings H8002 ,

15. They must also bring the grain offerings and drink offerings that go with them. And they must bring a basket of bread made without yeast, loaves made with fine flour mixed with oil, and wafers made without yeast spread with oil.

15. And a basket H5536 of unleavened bread H4682 , cakes H2471 of fine flour H5560 mingled H1101 with oil H8081 , and wafers H7550 of unleavened bread H4682 anointed H4886 with oil H8081 , and their meat offering H4503 , and their drink offerings H5262 .
|
|
16. "'The priest will give these offerings to the Lord and make the sin offering and the burnt offering.
|
16. And the priest H3548 shall bring H7126 them before H6440 the LORD H3068 , and shall offer H6213 H853 his sin offering H2403 , and his burnt offering H5930 :
|
|
17. Then he will kill the male sheep as a fellowship offering to the Lord; along with it, he will present the basket of bread made without yeast, the grain offering, and the drink offering.
|
17. And he shall offer H6213 the ram H352 for a sacrifice H2077 of peace offerings H8002 unto the LORD H3068 , with H5921 the basket H5536 of unleavened bread H4682 : the priest H3548 shall offer H6213 also H853 his meat offering H4503 , and his drink offering H5262 .
|
|
18. "'The Nazirites must go to the entrance of the Meeting Tent and shave off their hair that they grew for their promise. The hair will be put in the fire that is under the sacrifice of the fellowship offering.
|
18. And the Nazarite H5139 shall shave H1548 H853 the head H7218 of his separation H5145 at the door H6607 of the tabernacle H168 of the congregation H4150 , and shall take H3947 H853 the hair H8181 of the head H7218 of his separation H5145 , and put H5414 it in H5921 the fire H784 which H834 is under H8478 the sacrifice H2077 of the peace offerings H8002 .

19. "'After the Nazirites cut off their hair, the priest will give them a boiled shoulder from the male sheep. From the basket he will also give a loaf and a wafer, both made without yeast.
|
19. And the priest H3548 shall take H3947 H853 the sodden H1311 shoulder H2220 of H4480 the ram H352 , and one H259 unleavened H4682 cake H2471 out of H4480 the basket H5536 , and one H259 unleavened H4682 wafer H7550 , and shall put H5414 them upon H5921 the hands H3709 of the Nazarite H5139 , after H310 H853 the hair of his separation H5145 is shaven H1548 :

20. Then the priest will present them to the Lord. They are holy and belong to the priest. Also, he is to present the breast and the thigh from the male sheep. After that, the Nazirites may drink wine.
|
20. And the priest H3548 shall wave H5130 them for a wave offering H8573 before H6440 the LORD H3068 : this H1931 is holy H6944 for the priest H3548 , with H5921 the wave H8573 breast H2373 and heave H8641 shoulder H7785 : and after that H310 the Nazarite H5139 may drink H8354 wine H3196 .

21. "'This is the teaching for the Nazirites who make a promise. Everyone who makes the Nazirite promise must give all of these gifts to the Lord. If they promised to do more, they must keep their promise, according to the teaching of the Nazirites.'"
|
21. This H2063 is the law H8451 of the Nazarite H5139 who H834 hath vowed H5087 , and of his offering H7133 unto the LORD H3068 for H5921 his separation H5145 , beside H4480 H905 that that H834 his hand H3027 shall get H5381 : according to H6310 the vow H5088 which H834 he vowed H5087 , so H3651 he must do H6213 after H5921 the law H8451 of his separation H5145 .

22. The Lord said to Moses,
|
22. And the LORD H3068 spoke H1696 unto H413 Moses H4872 , saying H559 ,
|
|
23. "Tell Aaron and his sons, 'This is how you should bless the Israelites. Say to them:
|
23. Speak H1696 unto H413 Aaron H175 and unto H413 his sons H1121 , saying H559 , On this wise H3541 ye shall bless H1288 H853 the children H1121 of Israel H3478 , saying H559 unto them,
|
|
24. "May the Lord bless you and keep you.
|
24. The LORD H3068 bless H1288 thee , and keep H8104 thee:
|
|
25. May the Lord show you his kindness and have mercy on you.
|
25. The LORD H3068 make his face H6440 shine H215 upon H413 thee , and be gracious H2603 unto thee:
|
|
26. May the Lord watch over you and give you peace."'
|
26. The LORD H3068 lift up H5375 his countenance H6440 upon H413 thee , and give H7760 thee peace H7965 .
|
|
27. "So Aaron and his sons will bless the Israelites with my name, and I will bless them."
|
27. And they shall put H7760 H853 my name H8034 upon H5921 the children H1121 of Israel H3478 ; and I H589 will bless H1288 them.
