1. "A man might marry a woman, and then find some secret thing about her that he does not like. If that man is not pleased with her, he must write the divorce papers and give them to her. Then he must send her from his house.
1. 2. When she has left his house, she may go and become another man's wife.
2. And when she is departed H3318 out of his house H4480 H1004 , she may go H1980 and be H1961 another H312 man H376 's wife .
3. But suppose the new husband also does not like her and sends her away. If that man divorces her, the first husband may not take her again to be his wife. Or if the new husband dies, her first husband may not take her again to be his wife. She has become unclean to him. If he married her again, he would be doing something the Lord hates. You must not sin like this in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
3. And if the latter H314 husband H376 hate H8130 her , and write H3789 her a bill H5612 of divorcement H3748 , and giveth H5414 it in her hand H3027 , and sendeth H7971 her out of his house H4480 H1004 ; or H176 if H3588 the latter H314 husband H376 die H4191 , which H834 took H3947 her to be his wife H802 ;

5. "When a man is newly married, he must not be sent into the army. And he must not be given any other special work. For one year he must be free to stay home and make his new wife happy.

6. "When you lend someone something, you must not take as security any part of the stones used to grind flour. That would be the same as taking away their food.

7. "Someone might kidnap another Israelite�one of their own people. And that kidnapper might sell that person as a slave. If that happens, that kidnapper must be killed. You must remove this evil from your group.
7. If H3588 a man H376 be found H4672 stealing H1589 any H5315 of his brethren H4480 H251 of the children H4480 H1121 of Israel H3478 , and maketh merchandise H6014 of him , or selleth H4376 him ; then that H1931 thief H1590 shall die H4191 ; and thou shalt put evil away H1197 H7451 from among H4480 H7130 you.
8. "When you have a very bad skin disease, be very careful to follow everything the Levite priests teach you. You must follow carefully what I told the priests to do.
8. Take heed H8104 in the plague H5061 of leprosy H6883 , that thou observe H8104 diligently H3966 , and do H6213 according to all H3605 that H834 the priests H3548 the Levites H3881 shall teach H3384 you: as H834 I commanded H6680 them, so ye shall observe H8104 to do H6213 .
9. Remember what the Lord your God did to Miriam on your trip out of Egypt.

10. "When you give someone any kind of loan, you must not go into their house to get security.
10. When H3588 thou dost lend H5383 thy brother H7453 any H3972 thing H4859 , thou shalt not H3808 go H935 into H413 his house H1004 to fetch H5670 his pledge H5667 .
11. You must stand outside. Then the person who you gave the loan to will bring out the security to you.
11. Thou shalt stand H5975 abroad H2351 , and the man H376 to whom H834 thou H859 dost lend H5383 shall bring out H3318 H853 the pledge H5667 abroad H2351 unto H413 thee.
12. If he is a poor man, {then he might give the clothes that keep him warm}. You must not keep that security overnight.
12. And if H518 the man H376 be poor H6041 , thou shalt not H3808 sleep H7901 with his pledge H5667 :
13. You must give his security back to him every evening. Then he will have clothes to sleep in. He will bless you, and the Lord your God will accept this as living right and doing good.
13. In any case thou shalt deliver H7725 H7725 him H853 the pledge H5667 again when the sun H8121 goeth down H935 , that he may sleep H7901 in his own raiment H8008 , and bless H1288 thee : and it shall be H1961 righteousness H6666 unto thee before H6440 the LORD H3068 thy God H430 .
14. "You must not cheat a hired servant who is poor and needy. It does not matter if he is an Israelite or if he is a foreigner living in one of your cities.
14. Thou shalt not H3808 oppress H6231 a hired servant H7916 that is poor H6041 and needy H34 , whether he be of thy brethren H4480 H251 , or H176 of thy strangers H4480 H1616 that H834 are in thy land H776 within thy gates H8179 :
15. Give him his pay every day before sunset, because he is poor and depends on the money. If you don't pay him, he will complain against you to the Lord, and you will be guilty of sin.
15. At his day H3117 thou shalt give H5414 him his hire H7939 , neither H3808 shall the sun H8121 go down H935 upon H5921 it; for H3588 he H1931 is poor H6041 , and setteth H5375 H853 his heart H5315 upon H413 it: lest H3808 he cry H7121 against H5921 thee unto H413 the LORD H3068 , and it be H1961 sin H2399 unto thee.
16. "Parents must not be put to death for something their children did. And children must not be put to death for something their parents did. People should be put to death only for a bad thing that they themselves did.
16. The fathers H1 shall not H3808 be put to death H4191 for H5921 the children H1121 , neither H3808 shall the children H1121 be put to death H4191 for H5921 the fathers H1 : every man H376 shall be put to death H4191 for his own sin H2399 .
17. "You must make sure that foreigners and orphans are treated fairly. And you must never take clothes from a widow as security.
17. Thou shalt not H3808 pervert H5186 the judgment H4941 of the stranger H1616 , nor of the fatherless H3490 ; nor H3808 take H2254 a widow H490 's raiment H899 to pledge H2254 :
18. Remember, you were poor slaves in Egypt. And the Lord your God took you from that place and set you free. That is why I tell you to do these things for the poor.
18. But thou shalt remember H2142 that H3588 thou wast H1961 a bondman H5650 in Egypt H4714 , and the LORD H3068 thy God H430 redeemed H6299 thee thence H4480 H8033 : therefore H5921 H3651 I H595 command H6680 thee to do H6213 H853 this H2088 thing H1697 .
19. "You might be gathering your harvest in the field, and you might forget and leave some grain there. You must not go back to get it. It will be for the foreigners, the orphans, and the widows. If you leave some grain for them, the Lord your God will bless you in everything you do.
19. When H3588 thou cuttest down H7114 thine harvest H7105 in thy field H7704 , and hast forgot H7911 a sheaf H6016 in the field H7704 , thou shalt not H3808 go again H7725 to fetch H3947 it : it shall be H1961 for the stranger H1616 , for the fatherless H3490 , and for the widow H490 : that H4616 the LORD H3068 thy God H430 may bless H1288 thee in all H3605 the work H4639 of thine hands H3027 .
20. When you beat your olive trees, you must not go back to check the branches. The olives you leave will be for the foreigners, the orphans, and the widows.
20. When H3588 thou beatest H2251 thine olive tree H2132 , thou shalt not H3808 go over the boughs H6286 again H310 : it shall be H1961 for the stranger H1616 , for the fatherless H3490 , and for the widow H490 .
21. When you gather the grapes from your vineyard, you must not go back to gather the grapes you left. They will be for the foreigners, the orphans, and the widows.
21. When H3588 thou gatherest the grapes H1219 of thy vineyard H3754 , thou shalt not H3808 glean H5953 it afterward H310 : it shall be H1961 for the stranger H1616 , for the fatherless H3490 , and for the widow H490 .
22. Remember you were poor slaves in Egypt. That is why I tell you to do these things for the poor.
22. And thou shalt remember H2142 that H3588 thou wast H1961 a bondman H5650 in the land H776 of Egypt H4714 : therefore H5921 H3651 I H595 command H6680 thee to do H6213 H853 this H2088 thing H1697 .
